Lost my heart in El Hierro

It happened again and I fell in love with a place, El Hierro. When we arrived in El Hierro last night, everything was dark and we could not see the beauty that surrounded us. Today, we drove around the island and found rough cliffs, fluffy forests, old trees and volcanic stones. I bathed only my feet on a stony beach…

Time lapse camera

I’ve bought a time lapse camera, strictly for scientific use! Next summer, I want several cameras to do my work and record when the plants start to flower and which insects pollinate them. Of course „somebody“ has to look at one million pictures in the end, but I don’t worry about that now.

I’m testing my new camera at the moment, not on insects but on sunsets, cloudless nights and trying to catch the moon.

By the way, this is the first time I brought as many cameras on holidays as Mr. Lovely, the photographer!

Knitting season

The knitting season has started, actually it did some time ago. It’s this magic thing that happens to a proportion of the human population as soon as the days start to get shorter, the winds blow stronger, the leaves turn yellow and the rain sets in (at least in some places, for example Ber(e)gen). The ideas of what should be knitted just flows over me like a wave and the projects pile up. Usually, I knit several things at the same time, because I think I’m a multitasking person, which I am definitely not! I always knit a pair of socks (for the husb) and I finished a sheep, and am now knitting something long, dangerous and blue, which should be green, but I like to make some adjustments to the knitting patterns. I can’t tell what it is, because it’s going to be a X-mas gift for my unborn nephew/niece.

The animal knitting patterns are by Amanda Berry.
