Hot pot

If in Chengdu, eating hot pot is a must. You can get it elsewhere in China, but Chengdu is known for very good hot pot. The name explains what it is: a pot full of spices. The chilis swim on top and the Sichuan pepper makes your toungue go numb so that you can eat more spices.

Chinese people put in all kinds of things in the hot pot. Mainly meat. Ham, pork, chicken, chicken head and pig brain (this is essential). My hosts were kind enough to order lot’s of tofu and vegetable for me. But yes there were duck feet in the pot.

Panos

This was the last day and tomorrow it goes back to Zürich. The snow has come at last in Switzerland. I’m looking forward to go home (I always do). And maybe there will be a bit of skiing before I go back to Bergen. This time it will be via Turku in Finland (where I have only been once for 10 minutes). Sonja, maybe you remeber…

But here some panos from Fuerte and Lanzarote. As always we loved it and intend to come back. But this time with a goal. We want to learn to surf.

The green North

Common to all Canary Islands it that the North is greener. This is because the weather and with it the rain is usually coming from the north-west. The clouds are stopped by the mountains and rain out on the northern side. Also on Lanzarote we found green pastures and bushes on the northern side.
