I have been quiet busy, because I will go to a conference and on holidays in a couple of days. I will post about that later!

But last week I finished my field work for this season. Autumn is here and it is time to go back to the office! The mountains shine in all sorts of coulors and there are berries wherever you look. I was lucky to spend two sunny days in the mountains with not too much work. So I had time to eat all the blue berries (Vaccinium myrtillus), cloud berries (Rubus chamaemorus) and cowberries (Vaccinium vitis-idaea). Who would want to miss that!

Last week I was at a summer school on Bayesian Statistics. I had a wonderful and tough time, trying to remember all these mathematic stuff, but I learnt a lot and was definitely „enlightened“ by Bayes! I will try to apply this to my own data in the near future.

The course was at the Lyngheisenteret on Lygra a island north of Bergen. We were spoiled by the cook and the weather (we went swimming!).

The course is run every year and I can only recommend it.

A few month ago I bought a foldable oru kayak. I have been testing it on a small lake and a river and it is amazing. People laugh when they see the box because it is difficult to imagine that it can be unfolded to a kayak. But it unfolds to a great kayak. Although it is not very heavy, it is still very large and not practical to take on a bus. But with the ocean right outside the door this should not be a problem.

Last weekend I spent a wonderful day exploring Sotra with my dad!

I am not good at learning languages. But I picked up a few Chinese signs. And this makes it even easier to learn a few more.

Since a couple of month I get a bag of specialty coffee from postkaffe every month. Postkaffe wants more people in Norway to have access to good coffee. They ship once or twice a month 1-2 coffee bags from Scandinavia and sometimes Germany. You never know what you get and therefore it’s always a surprise. Sometimes well known coffee and sometimes something new.
