I came across this brand, talonmade the other day. All products are handmade to last forever. The fabric is organic and from Japan, the leader vegetable tanned in a small tannery in Germany. And every piece is unique.

Buy flowers
Yesterday, we went to the market and bought this beautiful bunch of flowers. I usually forget, but it’s nice to give yourself flowers from time to time.
My owl cup
I got an owl cup the other day from someone who has recently been to Olympia (thanks!!!). Now I enjoy my aeropress or V60 every day in this new cup. I think people smile at me, when they see what a big fuss I make out of a simple cup of coffee. Weighing in beans, the water and measuring the time the water needs to run through the filter. If they only knew…
What I miss most and what I forgot!
Field work in the snow
I panicked slightly last week, because I thought the snow on my field sites had melted. Last year, I came to late to the field and all the plants were already flowering. (I am studying when plants start to flower). So this year, I wanted to be in time and found the field site under 50cm of snow!
Cutting board
I used the free period to make a cutting board in my grandfathers old workshop. It is still fully equipped with tools and some thick pine boards. Perfect for cutting boards.

On Saturday I made it to one of „The Seven“. The Seven are seven mountains surrounding Bergen. It is an ongoing discussion, which seven mountains that belong to The Seven, or are there five or nine? And depending on who you ask and where they live, you’ll get different answers. I don’t want to go into this discussion here, but I will hike some of the mountains surrounding Bergen. Also the numbers don’t mean anything other than the order that I’ll hike them;-)
Ulriken is the highest of the mountains (643m). A steep and rocky trail leads up to the top. From the top one can see the open ocean and snowy mountain tops towards the east.
Hard Graft
This post has been waiting for a long time. I have always wanted to write about Hard Graft. I like their simple but very elegant design and combination of materials. One can see the love and thought that has been put into the creation of each piece.
Spring weather in Bergen
The last few days have just been awesome! Blue sky and spring temperatures. I’ve been soking up the sun all weekend!
